Description

Products in the town of Bijar, KURDISTAN, in the North West of Persia. These Persian rugs are immediately distinguished from the others by the thickness of their batteries. The Bijar rug's design is almost never geometric but marked by a great diversity, ranging from the smallest model very large Herati, such as those of the "vase carpets". The context can be uniform and covered with or without medallions. Bijar, a major city Northwest of Hamadan long played an important role as a centre for the arts. The Bijar carpets feature is a relatively long battery on a double chain. Lengths of lines that saillient of the Foundation of a carpet back can hardly be folded in the usual manner, with the outside back. It may easily warp and weft threads are broken. The back carpet must therefore be bent outward from the face.
